Scholars of fashion history often cite Gentry, a posh men's quarterly lifestyle magazine from the 1950s, as among their favorite sources of inspiration. So it seems fitting that for a new exhibition at the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, it was undergraduate fabric design students at University of Georgia's Lamar Dodd School of Art who were given the task of looking to Gentry and other pre-"Mad Men"-era media to come up with a relevant master color palette and to design their own patterns based on it.
