How long should I wait before I follow up my pitch?

Follow-up is an important component of your outreach and is often just the reminder an editor needs to place your idea in her lineup. Give an editor one week to ten days before reaching out with a short email. You'll want to remind her of the general pitch idea and ask if she sees potential for placement. Then take a step back, thanking her for the consideration. Following up a pitch to a blogger is overkill. They’re generally working at a much faster turnaround and will reach out to you if they need more information. Just be sure to keep up with the blogs you pitch in the event they run your product, at which point you’ll want to thank them.
