Recipe for Press interns land national coverage! Again!

MTV was in Athens this week shooting a new online series called "Localities," a show that will spotlight all that's cool and new with the nation's music and creative scenes. Two of my intern's, Dana Balch and Joanna Sullivan, were asked in be a part of the shooting and scouting. Along with friend, Maddie Zerkel, the two founded the Tumblr site, AthensStreetStyle. This is the duo's second national placement for their Tumblr site. The first was Teen Vogue. Way to go! You are terrific ambassadors......and quick learners!

...............A trio of University of Georgia college students turned the show, produced by L.A.-based production company Vimby, onto a number of boutique fashion stops in downtown Athens. The students behind the blog Athensstreetstyle.com, a Tumblr devoted to snapshots of student fashion, received an email from the producers asking to be shown where students hang out. 

“I’m a (public relations) major, so this is kind of a dream,” said Dana Balch, one the blog’s founders alongside Maddie Zerkel and Joanna Sullivan.

This attention made Balch feel like their site is effective in getting their message out.
