Sure, they could have gone at it alone. Instead they shared the spotlight and invited a handful of good friends whose talent or energy would add to the event (I was one of the the lucky ones). Angel Court threw an incredible party (the bloggers loved the DIY jewelry bar!) but they also succeeded in reaching a much larger and more diverse audience with all of us lighting up Twitter, blogs and Facebook with pics. The behind-the-scenes shots of the days leading up to that party probably told the story best (and yes we all shared those too!) as did the smiles plastered on our faces on the flight home.

Creative Collaborations, part 1
I encourage collaborating to create and maintain engaging content and to grow your community in a meaningful way. In fact, I devoted an entire chapter to the idea in my book and I'll be posting more on this subject in the upcoming week. Today I wanted to highlight two friends who took this charge to a new level. Angela Burgess and Courtney Taylor, the designers of Angel Court jewelry, are rising stars in the world of fashion. Recently, they tried a new approach to introducing their latest collection to a very specific group of media influencers--a select crop of up-and-coming style bloggers--and they planned it for New York on the fringes of fashion week.

Looks like a fun glamourous time! Collaboration is a great way to inject enthusiasm when one is feeling a little stale.
