A look back: my years at Lucky magazine

Rifling through stacks of old publications, I came upon a pile of Lucky magazines. Did you know that I was a regional editor for Lucky for five years? It was that unique perspective as a regional editor (that's my page they're talking about in the upper right hand corner) that informed the need for a book like Recipe for Press. I met so many designers, shop owners and artists who needed press and had great products and stories but lacked the confidence to approach an editor. The rest, my friends, is history!

New trend alert...... the Summer Coat!

Years ago I worked for Lucky magazine as a regional editor alongside the publication's west coast editor, Marlien Rentmeester. She is a quiet industry influencer--the real deal--and her blog, Le Catch, is a great source for what's up next. Her recent post on the summer coat, for example, is sure to be a story in every editor's everywhere spring fashion pages (and these pages will be pulled together in a mere three months). Designers, if you have a summer coat in SS/2013 collection, don't forget to pitch the Summer Coat story in October to national editors!
